But beyond the island’s magic is a group of people working tirelessly to support its future. That’s where Love for Lembongan comes in — a community initiative by The Lembongan Traveller in partnership with the Bali Children Foundation, focused on improving access to education and healthcare for the people of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. 

Education That Empowers 

One of the key pillars of Love for Lembongan is its commitment to improving education through innovative, grassroots support. 

• EdTech in Primary Schools
  In 2024, Love for Lembongan introduced EdTech, a digital learning program for Grade 1 students in five primary schools across Lembongan and Ceningan. With the use of tablets and tailored apps, the program focuses on building early literacy and numeracy skills in fun, engaging ways. 

By early 2025, 147 students were actively participating — and achieving incredible results, including the highest midline test scores in Bali for their age group. 

• English Language Learning
  In addition to digital learning, weekly English classes are being delivered to Grades 3–6, helping students develop language skills that will serve them both personally and professionally as they grow up in a tourism-rich environment.

Caring for the Community 

Outside the classroom, Love for Lembongan also extends its care through important health initiatives designed to reach those who need it most. 

• In-Home Health Visits
  Local nurse Bunda, based in Jungutbatu, visits elderly residents and underprivileged families, offering basic health check-ups and support in the comfort of their homes. 

• Priority Patients Program
  The initiative also provides ongoing support for individuals facing serious health challenges — including epilepsy, mobility limitations, and developmental or speech disorders. 

• Women’s Health Education
  In May 2025, Love for Lembongan introduced cervical cancer screenings using Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA). Thirty local women took part in the initial screenings, alongside tailored education sessions focused on reproductive health. 

These healthcare efforts reflect the heart of the program: providing compassionate, practical support to ensure no one is left behind.

Support When It’s Needed Most 

Love for Lembongan also responds to community emergencies with speed and care. 

When local resident Ketut Stanley lost his home to a fire, the program quickly mobilised to provide emergency relief — helping him and his family with essentials as they began to rebuild. 

It’s a reminder that the strength of a community shines brightest in times of need.
