Nusa Lembongan Travel Costs: How Much Does a Holiday Really Cost?
A 4-day, 3-night holiday in Nusa Lembongan for two people costs about AU$540 on a budget, AU$1,115 mid-range, and AU$1,910 in a private beachfront villa. Those totals cover return boat transfers from Bali, accommodation, food, a scooter and activities. Flights to Bali are not included. Accommodation is the biggest swing factor, so choosing where you sleep matters more than any other decision.
This guide shows how we built each estimate, so you can adjust it to your plans. We checked prices on 27 October 2026.
How we calculated these estimates
- Travellers and length: two adults, four days and three nights, departing from Sanur, Bali.
- Exchange rate: AU$1 = IDR 12,500. The rate was about IDR 12,420 on 2 October 2026 and near IDR 12,750 later in the month.
- US dollar figures: converted at roughly AU1=US0.65, so treat them as approximate.
- Sources: boat, scooter and tour prices come from 2026 operator guides and the resort’s own transfer page. Operators change fares, so confirm before you pay.
- Allowances: food, activities and the villa rate are planning allowances, not quotes. Lembongan Island Beach Villas doesn’t publish nightly rates online, so we’re assuming AU$350 per night for a two-bedroom villa.
- Not included: flights, Bali accommodation, travel insurance and shopping.
Getting there: fast boat costs
The fast boat from Sanur Harbour takes about 30 minutes. Fares vary by operator, boat and whether you travel on a shared or private pick-up:
- D’Camel: IDR 175,000 to 275,000 one way (AU14toAU22).
- Rocky Fast Cruise and D’Stars: IDR 430,000 shared to 560,000 private one way (AU34toAU45).
- Bali Hai Cruise: IDR 700,000 for adults one way (AU$56).
Return tickets are usually 10 to 20 per cent cheaper than two single fares. Hotel pick-up in the Sanur area is normally included.
Guests who book a villa on the resort’s website receive 20 per cent off return transfers. Adults pay AU$55 return on a shared Bali driver or AU$65 with a private driver; after the discount, this drops to AU$44 or AU$52. See the boat transfer page for current options and booking forms.
Bali also charges a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person (about AU$12), payable on your first visit to Bali.
Getting around the island

Nusa Lembongan is compact, and scooters are the most popular way to explore. Rentals cost IDR 80,000 to 120,000 per day (AU6 to AU$10), and most include a full tank. Two people can share one. Other options include:
- Bicycle: IDR 50,000 to 75,000 per day.
- Taxi truck: IDR 300,000 to 600,000 for a half day, shared between the group.
- Buggy: IDR 900,000 for a half day (about AU$72).
Grab and Gojek do not operate on the island, so carry cash. The resort’s reservations team can arrange scooters and transfers.
Accommodation: where the budget really changes
A basic private room costs about AU$46 to AU$62, according to 2025 averages. We use AU$50 per night for the budget estimate. We assume a comfortable hotel with a pool at AU$130 per night.
A beachfront villa sits at the top end. The resort’s two-bedroom villas sleep up to four, and the three-bedroom villas sleep up to eight, with ocean views and private plunge pools in selected villas. Breakfast is included in every booking, which trims your daily food spend. We assume AU$350 per night for planning. Check the live rate on the resort’s direct booking page, where it says it matches Booking.com prices.
Two practical notes: bookings are non-refundable, and Villa 2 is closed for improvements in November and December 2026.
Food and drinks
A meal at a local warung costs about AU$3 to AU$5. A three-course dinner at a nicer restaurant costs about AU$15 to AU$23, and a local beer costs US$2 to 3. Our daily allowances for two people are:
- Budget: AU$35 a day, mostly warungs.
- Mid-range: AU$80 a day, with café lunches and restaurant dinners.
- Villa: AU$100 a day, including breakfast, plus lunches, dinners, and beach club drinks.
Activities
Many of the best experiences are free, including the Blue Lagoon viewpoint and the mangrove coastline. Paid options include:
- Mangrove jukung boat tour: IDR 100,000 to 150,000 per person (AU$8 to AU$12).
- Local boat to Nusa Penida: IDR 75,000 to 100,000 one way (AU$6 to AU$8).
- Snorkelling trip: we allow AU$35 to AU$45 per person as an approximate figure.
- Spa, yoga, surf lessons and paddleboarding are available nearby. See the island activities page.

Is a villa holiday worth the extra cost?
A villa costs about AU$1,050 per night, about AU$270 more than the mid-range estimate, and includes beachfront space, a plunge pool in selected villas, and breakfast every morning.
The villa style suits families, small groups and anyone who wants a quiet base. Browse the villa options, check the resort map and view the gallery before you decide.
Seven ways to lower the cost
- Book direct. The resort matches Booking.com prices and gives 20 per cent off return boat transfers to villa guests.
- Share a scooter. One scooter for two costs about AU$8 a day.
- Eat where locals eat. Warung meals cost a fraction of beach club prices.
- Use free sights. The Blue Lagoon and mangrove coastline cost nothing to see.
- Take shared transfers. Shared Bali drivers are cheaper than private ones.
- Carry enough cash. One ATM is within walking distance of the resort, and money changers are nearby.
- Travel outside peak holiday periods. Rates are typically higher in July, August and around Christmas, so check the dates before you book.
